I live in a hostel in Bengaluru, and trust me — hostel food is a gamble.
Some days are good, some days… Well, let’s not talk about it.

I bought a small kit of basic Sam Masale – haldi, mirchi, garam masala.
Now whenever the mess food tastes bland, I add a pinch of these spices.

Suddenly the same dal tastes homely,
the same sabzi suddenly feels comforting.

One of my roommates said,
“Bro, your masala is saving our life.”

In the middle of hectic studies and busy internships,
those little flavors remind me of my mom’s kitchen back home.
